A profusely carved Louis XVI style, 19th century statuary marble fireplace
A profusely carved Louis XVI (1755–1793) style, 19th century statuary marble fireplace. With break fronted rectangular moulded shelf, above the frieze centred with an oval medallion of a stylized flower head, flanked to either side by six circular medallions of flower heads. The pilaster console bracket jambs lavishly carved with acanthus on tapering moulded herms, centred with falling graduated running pearl. The ornate rectangular blockings above with stylized flowers mirroring the central medallion. The whole raised on foot blocks.
