A Delicate 18th Century English Carved Pine Chimneypiece
The tiered shelf is punctuated by finely carved dentils, egg and dart, and acanthus ornamental details. This is supported by an elegant acanthus leaf frieze with beading. The slender dog leg jambs, carved with leaf and dart motif and a bead and reel moulding framing the opening. This chimneypiece is designed to stand on marble foot blocks which will increase the height and presence of the chimneypiece along with a set of slips with bullnose returns.
