An extraordinary, mid-nineteenth century, Italian, carved walnut chimneypiece
A mid-19th century, Italian carved walnut fireplace. The jambs carved with muscular, Atlantean figures. They stand on reclining elephants with outstretched trunks. Heaven represented by twelve-winged and playful armorini on the frieze.
