A rare French, Louis XV (1710-1774) pale ivory white marble, streaked obliquely with grey and orange, Rocco chimneypiece. Mid 18th century, circa 1750-1760. The serpentine moulded shelf above the moulded bed mould. The frieze echoing the shape of the shelf decorated to the centre with a beautifully carved shell decorated with flowers set against recessed panels carved with intertwined trellis enclosing flower heads overlaid at the ends with S shaped corbels. The pilaster jambs with inset tapering panels from the top of which fall tied drapes of flowers. The whole raised on squared blocks.
