An 18th century, splendidly architectural, carved pine and limewood antique fireplace. The shelf perfectly evokes the cornice of a Corinthian entablature, above a frieze comprising a central tablet carved with a neoclassical urn and scrolling acanthus tendrils to either side. The projecting end blocks each bear three delicately-carved foliate paterae above exuberant Corinthian capitals and fluted columns. The opening is bordered by a finely carved architrave.
