A Pair of Early 19th Century Mahogany and Ebonised Klismos Armchairs, by Gillows

SOLD

Made by Gillows, c.1805, in the Grecian manner, with ebonised detailing running up the legs and arms, and the back topped with a broad, curved splat. Finely turned ebonised roundels, set into the apron, provide a pleasing detail. The seat very comfortable, upholstered in the Regency manner, with horsehair stuff and hessian, ready for covering.
