Belton Console

This well drawn and handsomely scaled white painted console table, with shaped volute cabriole legs carved with acanthus leaf and imbricated circle carvings on stepped chamfered feet, is taken from an 18th century original walnut model (c.1735) currently in the Royal Collection and attributed to Benjamin Goodison (cabinetmaker to King George II). Shown here with a subtly figured Italian Breche marble slab top.
