Giltwood Goodison Mirror
Reproduced faithfully from a highly renowned mid 18th century design by Benjamin Goodison (royal cabinetmaker to George II) the frame is centred by a shell cresting, scroll and acanthus carved cartouche above an egg and dart mounted ‘re-entrant’ form, with a meticulously aged and subtly ‘foxed’ mirror plate. Here photograph in a gently antiqued giltwood surface finish, aiming to replicate the original 18th century ‘untouched’ lustre. The mirror has a pair swan neck scrolling brass candle sconces (removable), to hold wax candles, if desired.
