A Rare George III Pine Chimneypiece in the manner of William Kent

An 18th century finely carved pine chimneypiece of sculptural presence, the tiered shelf is punctuated by acanthus leaves, above a frieze finely carved in high relief with a mask looking to one side flanked by foliage, the sides with scrolls showing scallop shells. The leaf&dart motif runs along the inner eared frame, hung foliage and flowers at either side.

This chimneypiece is designed to stand on marble foot blocks which will increase the height and presence of the chimneypiece along with a set of slips with bullnose returns.
