A Highly Carved & Decorative George III Neo-Gothic Chimneypiece

A mid-18th century George III English neo-gothic revival, decorative antique stone fireplace; dated 1766 and of the period. The shelf with cusped, cavetto moulding decorated with flower heads, the spandrels of the simply constructed arched lintel well carved with stylised leaves below a band of flower heads. The pilaster shaped jambs decorated centrally with armorial crests with stylised foliate decoration above and below.
