The last few days of Christmas.
30 December 2016

Around the house are the reminders of the last few days. One of Monty’s presents, a bugle, rests silently for a few moments on the side.

He saw it in a junk shop and desperately wanted it, so we bought it and kept it for Christmas. Not knowing he would have a natural talent for it, we have been slightly regretting it. As well as announcing Christmas lunch was ready for seventeen family and friends to sit, he has been waking us each morning since.

Lunch turned into a raucous affair with Uncle Roger kicking off the singing and Eliza the dancing. Everyone one had to wear the obligatory moustaches from the crackers…I found two this morning that the kids had stuck onto two marble rams heads mounted on the wall.

I am starting to look at the year ahead. Hopefully it’s going to be another good year, helped by the amazing new warehouse we have just taken. We will be bringing out our new collection of Jamb chimneypieces and starting the year with five new lights to join our expanding lighting range. For now though I am holding onto the last few days before the New Year, just enjoying being at home by the fire.
