Roxburghe
The Roxburghe as seen above, for example, is inspired by a chimneypiece by Edwin Lutyens in the Bird Room at Floors Castle. Lutyens himself drew his design from an eighteenth-century original, so our new iteration, carved from Breccia di Serravezza, is the latest in a proud tradition. View it here.

Baird
The Baird chimneypiece is a sophisticated development of the trope of the bolection mould, an architectural exhibition piece on a small scale, designed to showcase the skill of the carver and the designer. This is not a two man show however, the Portoro Nero, also excelling in this form, the fluid chains of gold running through the black beautifully.

Mawley
This chimneypiece is characterised by the curved shoulders of the aperture which lead to a shallow, pointed arch. Carved from Breccia Stazzema, a marble exhibiting figuration of dark purple, tobacco and ivory.

Briggs
The straight lines of the jambs and the header are softened by the rounded flutes of the frieze. These carved flutes uphold the tiered shelf and contribute to the elegant, mid eighteenth-century form of this chimneypiece. Carved from Paonazzo marble, the architectural design of the Briggs is lent gravity and presence.

Algernon
Carved from Grigio Carnico, a richly grained marble of pumice black and dove grey, this bolection chimneypiece is centred by a keystone in Breccia Medicea. Both the marble and the shape of this keystone offer a striking contrast against the rest of the chimneypiece. View it here. Do browse our website to see a markedly different Algernon carved from Carrara, with a keystone of Breccia di Serravezza.
