An Irish George II Period Mahogany Console Table with Tartaro di Tivoli Top

Of striking form with deeply carved claw feet and mask cabochon details, the meander frieze and egg and dart bed moulding. The top is Tartaro di Tivoli, veneered onto composite, sourced and chosen for this remarkable table due to its immense beauty and richly varied tonal qualities.

A very similar table was at Hursley Park, Hampshire, in the early 1900s, almost certainly by the same hand (image below).
