The founders of Jamb Camberwell home featured in Milieu Magazine, Winter 2019.
29 November 2019

As December descends we are so pleased to have a wonderful feature of our home in the winter addition of Milieu magazine.

We feel so fortunate to have been chosen for the edition. The photography was expertly done by Simon Brown , beautifully styled by style editor Katrin Cargill and wonderfully written by Elfreda Pownall:

"The London home of Will Fisher and Charlotte Freemantle, founders of the furniture and accessories company Jamb, live with what they make.

The sitting room features an antique lighting fixture and fireplace fender that have since been reproduced as Jamb products.

The rooms of Will Fisher and Charlotte Freemantle’s London home are filled with antique originals, from which they have created reproductions for their company Jamb. Their drawing room is furnished with an oversize nineteenth century ottoman upholstered in fabric from Michael Smith. The sofa inspired the Jamb reproduction Holland Sofa.

The kitchen walls and island are clad in New York City subway tiles. The antique lamp that compliments the island was used in a museum and has since been reproduced as the Jamb Scholar’s Lamp. The oven is AGA. The pantry rack is an antique, (recently reproduced as part of a new furniture collection Jamb has launched entitled The Pantry Collection. The twentieth century Belfast sink is fitted with reproduction Edwardian hardware.

The dining room fireplace is outlined with an antique Portland stone surround, the inspiration for the Jamb Montford Chimneypiece. The Arts & Crafts table was designed by Lutyens for a yacht.

Visitors are greeted in the home’s entryway with an early nineteenth- century bust of Greek philosopher Chrysippus. The George II pine console table was hand carved in Ireland.

The upstairs landing is illuminated with an original antique fixture, now known as the Jamb Tatham Lantern. The charcoal drawing, by Nic McElhatton, depicts the family dog, Cookie.

Items in the master bedroom are displayed against walls painted with Farrow & Ball’s Blue Gray. The nineteenth-century brass bed is covered with a vintage quilt. The nineteenth-century settee was made in Ceylon

A pair of Jamb’s Brooke Wall Lights illuminates the side-by-side sinks with period hardware. The Paint and Paper Library’s Tartalan is used on the walls.

It culminates another extraordinary year for us at Jamb that kick started with our launch in Atlanta, developing many new reproduction lighting and furniture collections ( Including our Pantry Collection) and was bookended with a brilliant trip to New York where we met many new designers and friends to introduce our Jamb journal.

On the front cover we photographed the new Log fork that has been added to the collection.

We have made a limited edition of twenty-five that have been hand forged and patinated and will be sold in the Pimlico shop on the 10th December.
