The Skibo lantern is inspired by the then state-of-the-art swimming pool at Skibo Castle, built for Andrew Carnegie outside inverness as the Scottish family seat, at the turn of the 20th Century in the age where the full electrification of the Country House was a source of immense technical innovation and fast moving changes in fashion. The original fixtures were powered by a private power station on the estate.
