Noke

Of smaller and more modest dimensions, this slight of scale mirror, or ‘girandole’, is taken from the quintessential forms seen at the very early part of the 18th century, or Queen Anne period. With gently curving and shaped top and bottom, the cut gesso markings add a light texture to the frame, with the overall aged giltwood finish replicating the untouched qualities seen on the surfaces of these early 18th century examples. Here shown with a sensitively aged mirror plate, with softly shaped bevelled glass edges, and a single swan neck scrolling brass candle sconce (removable), to hold wax candles, if desired.

Height 26¾in (68cm)
Width 17½in (44.5cm)
