Alfred Duke (1836-1915) - Portrait of the prize Dalmatian "Coming Still" who won 1st Prize Winner's Class in The Kennel Club's 38th show in 1894.
The painting is accompanied with the silver prize coin awarded by The Kennel Club to Mr. E.T. Parkers for his dalmatian's achievements, oil on canvas signed lower right.
19th century gilt frame: 69 x 54 cm.
Alfred Duke was known to have painted portraits of prize-winning pedigree dogs typically commissioned by their owners. In 1942, The Kennel Club began running the International dog show Crufts.
