A part of a lifesize statue of a woman, with Classical features. Cast lead, with a fantastic patina and aged surface, and sensitively rendered features.

Possibly by the workshop of John Nost, or his apprentice, Andrew Carpenter (c.1677-1737), whose Meleager, in the Victoria & Albert Museum, bears similarity of treatment (see below).

Measuring 21cm across at base.
