An exceptional luggage stand, with slatted top and reeded legs. Drawn in the Gillows sketchbook 1807. Label fixed to underside simply reads 'MONTGOMERIE'.
Commissioned by Lord Archibald Montgomerie, 12th Earl of Eglinton for Coilsfield House, Ayrshire, Scotland in the early 19th century, and remained there until sold in the 1950s.
