An Early 18th Century Statue of Chronos
£65,000
The weary, bearded figure of Old Father Time stoops beside a tree stump, an infant plucking at his cloak. Carved Bentheimer stone, a sandstone from the German-Dutch border, distinctive and ubiquitous in the architecture and statuary of the Low Countries. Raised upon a trapezoidal plinth.
