An Art Deco style chimneypiece carved in Black Marble and specimen Onyx with tones of yellow and green. The landscape orientation of this design is borrowed from Soanian modernity 100 years prior. The playful and overscale proportion is evocative of the broad curved silhouette so characteristic of numerous Art Deco buildings in London, New York and Miami. The imposing reeded pilaster jambs support a linear shelf, expressing a sense of modern age aesthetic.
