A Rare and Unusual Early 19th Century Carrara Marble and Devonshire Fossil Chimneypiece.
A well proportioned Regency fireplace showing cabochons on the frieze carved in rare materials from the ancient tropical coral seas of Britain. An oval in 'Featherstone' fossil at centre is flanked by petitor bookmatched diamonds at the sides and fine Ashburton roundels as cornerblocks.
