An Early-18th Century Weathered Stone Chimneypiece with Egg and Dart Carving

An early 18th century simple stone frame carved from Limestone. The piece is formed of a header and jambs continuing the same stepped inner edge detailing and an egg and dart moulding to the outer border. This chimneypiece could well have been built into the structure of the wall, making it a highly unusual design.
