Marble

Jamb Derrymore fireplace

Derrymore

Copied from a well proportioned mid-18th century Anglo-Irish original, this Sienna and white marble reproduction fireplace features a moulded breakfront shelf with egg and dart decoration above a frieze centred with a plain white marble tablet. This rests on the architrave and is beautifully offset by the richly coloured Sienna side panels. The jambs are formed of three quarter tapering columns with Ionic caps in white statuary, backed and thrown into relief by further Sienna marble. Delicately carved, open sunflowers appear above the protruding Sienna blockings.
