Tobin
This faithful reproduction of a rare 18th century double stove fire grate with legs in the form of urn capped obelisks, mounted on architectural plinths, joined by a pierced apron, is typical of Leeds ironmonger Maurice Tobin’s Neoclassical style. Tobin’s obituary of 1773 describes him as ‘the most eminent in his profession’.
