A Neoclassical Pine and Composite Chimneypiece Depicting Spring

A 19th century pine and composite chimneypiece in the Neoclassical style, the shelf with running Scallop shell and Acanthus mouldings, above a frieze bearing Adam style floral motifs bearing acanthus, wheat and fruit. The central tablet bears a Classical scene of the four muses dancing to the tune of a flute. The corner blocks are decorated with further scenes showing allegories of Spring, above jambs topped with sunflowers and decorated with sprays of wheat.
