An Elegant, Late 18th Century Neoclassical Chimneypiece, in Statuary & Sienna Marble

A late 18th century neoclassical antique fireplace in Sienna and statuary marble. The moulded shelf decorated with egg and dart and projects over the jambs. The Sienna frieze is centred with a tablet decorated with a two handled lidded campana shaped urn draped with cloth swags falling from gathered knots. The scrolled console jambs with bead and reel and acanthus leaf decoration, which support the blockings above which are carved with lidded campana urns; the whole on foot blocks. Circa 1775.
