When you look at the Portman you see the eighteenth century influence of Robert Adam whose aim was to create designs in the spirit of antiquity but with its own novelty and variety with neo classical motifs and delicate carvings. There are the influences of James Wyatt in the Seymour Design.
There are stories and allegories carved into the marble and stone.
In the Lismore design there is the allegory of drinking, dining and entertaining. Perfect for a dining room or living room.
