A Fine Regency Period Statuary Marble Column Chimneypiece of Landscape Proportions

The central tablet depicting a scene of the figure of Aphrodite reclining with her son Cupid and releasing a billing dove, flanked by a running frieze carved with anthemion and spraying acanthus. The projecting corner blocks each emblazoned with the mask of Medusa above the tapering fluted column jambs capped with acanthus capitols and enriched with anthemion and bell flower carvings on stepped footblocks.
