An exceptional quality late 18th century antique neoclassical chimneypiece, in statuary and richly veined convent Siena marbles. Circa 1780. With a stepped and moulded shelf which breaks forward over the jambs, the frieze with Siena inlaid flute and tongue decoration. The jambs in the form of tapering, stop fluted, pilasters on Siena, capped with rectangular blockings carved with naturalistic anthemions. The opening framed by Siena and statuary mouldings.
