A French white veined Carrara marble fireplace inlaid with Ormolu mounts of Louis XVI style and 19th century in date. The rectangular moulded top above the frieze which is centred with a marble tablet mounted with gilded bronze in a scene of the “Triumph of Love” (Love conquers all) with three putti astride a lion. This is flanked by scrolling acanthus and running pearl ormolu mounts. The jambs in the form of scrolling consoles of tapering form with flutes inlaid with foliate mounts. The inset opening with plain slips.
